The Hampton Roads Hurricanes Youth Track and Field Team was founded by Christopher Corbin in 2017. Known today as "HRH" or "HR Hurricanes," the club's purpose remains the same - to provide a program to educate youth about the sport of track and field, and create well-rounded student-athletes!
During the 2023 Outdoor Season, HRH had many firsts:
Received Team MVP at the April 2023 Speed Capital Invitational.
Had over 30 athletes (34) qualify for AAU Junior Olympics.
Hosted our first outdoor track meet - "HR Hurricanes CAT5 Invitational" on May 21, 2023.
During the 2024 Indoor Season, HRH:
Hosted our first indoor track meet - "HRH Winter Storm Classic" on Feb. 18, 2024
Participated in the AAU Indoor Nationals and closed out the event with:
1 National Champion
15 Individual All-Americans
4 Relay Team All-Americans
During the 2024 Outdoor Season, HRH:
Finished the Region 05 Qualifier event with:
24 Gold (State Champs)
13 Silver
16 Bronze
Had 44 athletes qualify for the AAU Junior Olympics!
During the 2025 Indoor Season, HRH:
Participated in the AAU Indoor Nationals and closed out the event with:
9 National Champions
44 All-Americans
Had two athletes participate on the VA Elite team in the 4x200m and 4x400m relays at AAU Indoor Nationals!
